The Power of PermissionI’m one of those people who never watches commercials.  I am a habitual channel surfer during commercial breaks and an avid user of my DVR that lets me fly through them when watching recorded shows.  Why?  Because 90% or more don’t apply to me.  They aren’t showing me products I have an interest in, their offers aren't compelling, and they don't educate me in any substantial way.  So I don’t waste my time with them.

Unsubscribing from Mailing ListsIn my SPAM box, I receive regular emails from my former cable TV provider featuring the latest promotions, On-Demand programming, etc.  Well, considering I moved four months ago and I've cancelled my service with them, it’s amazing how they just won’t give up on me!

Snippet TextI read a number of articles a few months back talking about the concept of a "preheader" or text snippet - The preheader express by Lisa Harmon, and Power Up Your Snippet Text by Stefan Pollard - and have since seen this tactic referenced in a number of different blogs and postings.  However, what I'm not seeing is the adoption of this very simple practice by marketers, which leaves me understandably confused.  How could marketers miss out on this opportunity?

Nofollow AttributeIn my last post I discussed the benefits of Link Juice to help boost your ranking in the search engine results pages (SERPs).  Another element that is often overlooked when optimizing a site is that you can control which links on your site are followed by the search engine spiders.  One way to ensure control is by using the Nofollow Attribute in your anchors and links.
