If you don't know what GTA4 is by now, I doubt you're even reading this blog. Reaching $310 million in retail value in its first day of sales and $500 million by the end of its first week, Grand Theft Auto IV is not just every gaming exec's dream come true, its also the franchise that Hollywood yearns for.
With its gritty and modern storyline, it's only a matter of time and price before a very lucky movie studio swoops up the rights to script it into a summer blockbuster, if not a franchise. In fact, the soundtrack's already getting rave reviews. Imagine joint promotions with auto companies, fast food chains, fashion retailers, etc. I can go on and on about its marketing potential although somehow, I just can't see it inside a Happy Meal.
